Still Here

I had hoped to see my pathology report today, meet a pile of oncologists, and head for home. Twas not to be. There’s a process of elimination going on, and so far the pathologist has only been able to absolutely rule out one cell type. Melanoma.

I have long thought that a likely cancer to be lurking in my future – as much time as I spent in the sun with no sunscreen. But I already knew I didn’t have melanoma.

Perhaps tomorrow I’ll learn what I DO have. But they will likely send me home tomorrow, with or without a plan. I’m ready to sleep in my own bed. And grateful for another sunset here.
